The popularity of the modern throwback made it easy for Demoff to shed some of the blame the bone debacles gave him.
As long as he acts as if he is on board with the alt uni some of the heat will dissipate off of his dumb decisions.
With going bone only twice this year, he has to acknowledge that it was a mistake. Even if he wont actually say it.
The full curl will be much harder to rectify and could take a few more years for Dumbkoff to find a way to justify going back to our legendary brand.
Yes Sir. The popularity of the White uni was way too much to ignore. I am surprised the Bone are being "phased out" so quickly though. I expected more of a fight from Demoff to keep them.
He was sooo proud of those "unique", innovative" and "widely loved by the players" Bone monstrosities that I am sure this wasn't easy for him.
But make no mistake about it. This is about as close as we will get to him admitting they were not widely accepted by anyone whether it was Rams fans or just fans in general.
I agree with you on the helmet horn Killrazor. That might not happen for a long time because reverting to a FULL helmet horn would get and even BIGGER positive response than the alt uni got.
Why was the "Alt uni" so widely liked? Because it is very close to the same design as the away Ferrgamo's. You know...that uni that absolutely was universally loved and not ONE fan wanted to have changed? That one. The Alt uni is close but it's still not as good of a design as the original they tried to "update".
In a way, I feel a bit sad for Demoff. He had good intentions but totally screwed it up. He was losing a battle he could never win. There was no issue with the Ferragamo's at all. It would be almost impossible to improve them other than just a few "tweaks" here and there. He does the rest of his job well. He just shouldn't have had a say in the design because obviously he has very bad taste. lol
For now, Demoff will be known as the dude who p#ssed on our Rams tradition. They ONLY way to save face is to acknowledge the error he made and fix it. Be humble enough to do that and most will forgive him.
Anyway, someday after Demoff is gone, someone will decide to bring back the "Gamo's" and they will instantly be a hero to many fans and traditionalist's too.
