"So, if I'm reading this correctly then...if you were the GM of a new team, AD would be your 6th choice (and top defender) to lead it. Is this considering current mileage and other very good defenders out there (i.e. TJ Watt or Nick Bosa)? I get that that neither Bosa or Watt spend much time inside, but they are younger."
We were given a list of the top 10 paid NFL players and AD was #10. Given that constraint, perhaps I said it poorly but I listed who I would pick ahead of AD. Since all of them were QBs, once I had my QB, I'd probably pick AD next. I'd have to think about perhaps getting a top OLineman, or WR (perhaps Kupp?), or a different defensive star over AD. But given what I saw him do in the SB and the playoffs, miles be damned, yeah. How can you not make him the 2nd most important guy on the team after a top rated QB?
I still am trying to figure out he stopped Perine / Mixon? with one arm, and all the while he was being blocked by an OLineman. Those are professional and seasoned RBs, not some scrub just outta college. That's Superman like! One arm! Impossible! "Inconceivable!"
I hear what you are saying about Cousins, and I went back and forth on it. I believe the value of an above average QB is more important that the top DLineman.
