And believe me I was crushed by the defeat... but I was at that game and IMHO that Ram's team was about the weakest of the 70's... I didn't expect that team to make the SB... so on the drive home from the game I actually felt pride that they had held their own.

Whereas that last loss to Niners was as close to soul crushing as I've ever experienced. I really can't explain the depths of despair I felt after that game. It felt 'close' to the Niners not just beating the Rams but more like utterly destroying the entire Ram's franchise.

So that should give you at least some indication of the 'high' I felt in the NFC championship game. After the two Ram's SB victories I'd have to say that NFC game over the Niners was about as good as it gets... and maybe, just maybe, as good as the SB victories. - JamesJM
