I will always wonder how close they were to hiring Walsh.

One paper actually reported it, however, the hang up was that Walsh also wanted to be GM and the Rams had that in Klosterman, although maybe it would have been worked out. It seems though Carroll's son Steve had quite a bit of say on this and he kept saying all George Allen does is win. I believe CR liked Walsh, but in the end, felt Allen could win with the team all of us wish that CR went with his gut instead.
