I think Howard's release cleared around $2.5M in cap space, so the Rams had about $7.2M in cap space prior to that transaction.
I think $7.2M would have been enough to get thru the year if they were done with their roster building. (Feel free to correct me if that's not accurate.) I seriously doubt that the Rams are building cap space simply for the sake of having more cap space, which signals to me that they aren't done.
If Kupp's deal ends up clearing even more cap space in 2022 it would make me even more sure that something is in the works.
That something, of course, is the OBJ signing.

I have little doubt that Rams are not yet done. Might be only the OBJ signing, which I think is 90% likely, but it might be another, as well. Possibly a biggie such as Quinn? Or maybe something more modest? Maybe a trade deadline move? I dunno…
But here’s what I do know. Rams have positioned themselves now for a helluva 2 year SB window. They’ve made their plans and then executed them flawlessly.They may be only a player or 2 away from being virtually unstoppable. I’m serious.
Rams are now the envy of the league from ownership to asst coaches.
