According to [
overthecap.com] the Rams have just over $9.7M in cap space. It looks like that figure includes everything but Kupp's extension: AD's deal, Howard's release, and the rookie signings are all included.
I think Howard's release cleared around $2.5M in cap space, so the Rams had about $7.2M in cap space prior to that transaction.
I think $7.2M would have been enough to get thru the year if they were done with their roster building. (Feel free to correct me if that's not accurate.) I seriously doubt that the Rams are building cap space simply for the sake of having more cap space, which signals to me that they aren't done.
If Kupp's deal ends up clearing even more cap space in 2022 it would make me even more sure that something is in the works.
That something, of course, is the OBJ signing.
