He was on some terrible football teams and he was the only weapon the Rams had and the only thing the other team needed to stop.
He was rarely stopped and the guy was just a warrior and total pro...never complained and always played as hard as anyone on the field.
That said he is #3 but I am hard pressed not to think he wouldn't be #2 or #1 if the Rams had simply been more competitive while he was part of the franchise.
He played as hard as you could possibly go. During some really dark years as a Rams fan, he was a star and a reason to watch and hope.
Great player who deserves to be a HOF running back imo.
Nice post RR! SJ doesn't get the respect he deserves. He was a warrior on some VERY bad teams. The man was a consummate Pro....on AND off the field! He was one of a kind. To be as good as he was and not have a "little" diva in you is a rare thing. To this very day he is still a HUMBLE man.
He was\is a STAR to me too. The lone bright spot on our team for quite some time. He carried the team on his back for so long but just couldn't do it on his own. He deserved better.
One of my favorite memories is him breaking the whiner dudes arm...
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
