Most of the time 6th rounders don't make it. But, Lake was really good at UCLA and has good size and instincts. Fuller was also a 6th rounder and he started right away. So there's precedent with this club. Also, for whatever reason it seems that the Rams do a terrific job scouting secondary players. Fuller and Scott came out of nowhere.
Troy Hill when he was drafted was a huge surprise. Darius Williams we picked up off a practice squad. JJ was a great safety pick. There's other too. We find talent in these two positions like I've never seen before. And this draft we got several youngsters that McSnead liked. Two CBS before Lake. And there were guys after him. I love our depth and future at these positions. The only thing that might be tough is that we might have to trade or cut because there's so much talent and we can't keep them all. I always hate cutdown days because young players lose their jobs. And we might see a few DBs on the list.
