It took the 3 uni combos to come up with something "most" people could live with. lol The uni they wore in the SB was their 3rd attempt for a rebranded uni. The 3rd uni (modern throwback) turned out to be the most popular. It only took them 3 tries and a ton of bad reviews on the other combos.
Why was it so popular? It wasn't due to winning the SB IMO, the modern throwback was a hit pretty much from the start of it's release because it closely resembles the old away Ferragamo's. It's obvious to me that most people only wanted a slight change to the 'Gamos. Not a total redesign.
Yes, they looked good winning the SB in that uni...BUT...the neutered horn and stolen ASU logo still suck. 10 SB wins in a row wouldn't change that for me. The full horn on the helmet worked just fine for how many years??? All of a sudden, it just wasn't good enough anymore and needed to be neutered???
I have learned to "accept" (not like) the new stuff because there is no other choice, is there? lol Bring back the full helmet horn and it will make these newer uni's look a little better IMO.
I know how you feel about them 2k but for me these new uni's are simply not as good as the ones they abandoned. They are worse and it's not even close. IMO, it was a failed redesign and could have been done sooo much better if they only listened to the long time loyal fans.
