I think if you look at the TE room we are pretty solid when it comes to pass catching with Hopkins and Blanton backing up Higbee. However, both of the backups are not solid blockers which may seem like a big problem but it can be managed. In situations where you really need a blocking TE you can use an additional linemen. There is also the possibility that the backups can improve as blockers, If the Rams can teach blocking to the WR corps they can teach and coach up the TE group to perform better in this area.
Certainly the TE room is far from a strength but I don't see it as a pressing need either though if Higbee was out for an extended period of time I think that would be limiting to the offense to sme degree. I would suspect that next year they will look to invest a mid round pick for this position.
