It's so clear the "type" of player the Rams like at Guard. Essentially, it is a player who could probably play OT. Has very similar traits. They must have that lateral agility, technique and instinct to pass block.
I suspect that the thing they liked most about Bruss is that he played OT, which means as a Guard he understands the protections that have to be co-ordinated with whichever OT he plays next to.
Clearly the Rams aren't seeking road grading power blockers on the interior. They want pass protection first.
When you have Matt Stafford as your QB, you have to be able to protect him.
