and I cannot figure it out.
The safeties were aligned differently, not left and right....and we had 2 new safeties
remember the first playoff game Burgess started...and it was normal but when Weddle
came in they sis strong and free then they went field and boundary
It would take charting every play to see what happened. And I don't want to take the time
to do it.
In this case I am going to guess this confused offenses to some degree.
The front---it was simple, A-Rob improved him play significantly. Donald was Donald
Long and Williams played up to their potential. The coverages were nothing different
that I could tell in terms of the CBs, but something happened with the safeties.
Also, the "Gold front" was used a lot more. 3 rushers on one side of center and 1 far to the other side
with a $ backer rushing in that gap, with Hollins often that $ backer, Jones was that guy when he got cut, then
got up and STILL sacked the QB.
So, there were changes in the defense in the playoffs...IMO, not before, but yes, in the playoffs and it started
with the safeties and also the "gold front" with allowed Miller, and the $ bakcers to shine and tough, tough play by
Gaines and Robinson and the usual super play of Donald.
Maybe in the summer will try and break done the defense, but I have started it but get to caught up in watching the ball
because the defense was too fun to watch than to break it down.
