Rams often draft players to fill in starting on the second year in the league. Spot duty, rotation piece year one, then start in year two or three especially for the later round picks. We have multiple 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th rounders who earned nice second contracts. My question to the board is this primarily due to good scouting or good coaching up the talent we bring in. Obviously these things go hand in hand but if it is the coaching side at some point you might expect a dip as out coaching ranks turn over so quickly. The McSnead approach probably plays a role as Snead is getting different types of players for McVay than for Fisher. Fisher wanted the raw talent, McVay wants more cerebral players (look how many team captains we draft). We no longer have the 3rd and 8 and gain 7 yards plays that always happened with Fisher.
