Everyone is patiently waiting for the Los Angeles Rams to extend Aaron Donald, which is something the team has been working on this offseason. But he may not be the only player in line for a reward after a phenomenal 2021 season.

According to Gary Klein of the LA Times, the Rams also intend to reward Cooper Kupp for his record-setting campaign – along with others who helped contribute to the team’s Super Bowl run.

Kupp is currently 17th among all wide receivers in annual salary at $15.75 million. After seeing the deals other wideouts signed this offseason, Kupp looks like a bargain after leading the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.

It’s reasonable to think he’d be in for a raise after dominating last season.

The Rams could also elect to restructure Kupp’s deal, which would give him more money up front by converting some of his salary into a bonus, while also freeing up about $10.38 million in cap space.

The better option for Kupp, of course, is for the Rams to simply give him a raise – whether that’s in the form of an extension or a bump in salary in the two years left on his current contract.

Either way, Kupp should be rewarded for outperforming his contract up to this point.
