I'm not saying I agree, but I can imagine what Seattle might be thinking.
Even though Wilson is only 33, Watson is 26 so they gain 7 years there.
And I suspect the Seahawks will have to pay less for Watson than they got for Wilson so they would have a net gain in assets (players and picks) by swapping Watson for Wilson. So even if they downgrade at QB they can upgrade a number of other positions.
Also keep in mind that Wilson had to waive his no trade clause before the Seahawks could ship him off to Denver. Maybe Wilson waived it cuz Seattle told him they wanted to move him, but it's also possible that Wilson let the team know that he wanted to finish his career elsewhere and the Seahawks are accommodating him (the way the Lions accommodated Stafford).
