I hated the pick last April and saw nothing that changed that perspective. But yeah, if you're a top-60 draft pick unless you're a MAJOR off-field problem your team is going to give you more time. Plus his 2022 salary is guaranteed, so...

We'll see what he can become, if anything. I have a hard time seeing him carve out playing time, especially if OBJ is re-signed (even though he won't play until November). Skowronek has a better chance to carve out the WR4 role. And of course Powell is a far, far better option as a return man.

If (when?) Atwell disappoints in year two then they can let him go this time next year. $783k cap savings.
