Is there any reason to NOT make him the highest paid coach in the leaugue?
5 winning seasons. 4 Playoff appearances. 2 Super Bowls and 1 Super Bowl, World Championship victory.
NO other coaching staff in the league gets raided every offseason as much as McVay's. Most of the coaches from his tree enjoy success elsewhere. He coached against one of HIS former coaches in the Super Bowl, that's crazy. We all know the guy isn't perfect, but who is. I hope Stan made him the highest paid coach in the league. I'm probably being selfish, but I don't want to lose McVay as coach of the Rams, at least, not yet. If Miller and OBJ are back next season this team is poised to be lethal. Stafford in his second season in McVay's offense? Woods back. Ackers all season. Some moves will be made along the offensive line but I think the moves will be a net increase. This offense WILL be a top 3 offense. And I don't think anyone would think that that prediction would be stepping out on a limb.
Defense? An entire offseason to develop chemistry between the guys up front and Miller. Maybe Ramsey will come out for redemption from a poor playoff and Super Bowl performance? Morris starting the season with a firm foundation and feel for what these players can do is going to be huge imho. I think after next season no fans will be happy to see Morris leave for a head coaching job, but he probably will. Defense will be top 10, probably better. Rams are poised for a real run over the next couple seasons.
Wouldn't it be fun to win at least one more?
