A lot of continuity going into 2022 - perhaps the most ever under McVay?
Having the same coaches for DC (Raheem Henderson) and ST (Joe DeCamillis) is huge: the players can pick up where they left off, skip that 8 game learning curve, and hopefully build on the successes they had last year.
I know Liam Coen is a new OC from last year, but in reality this is McVay's offense more than anything. Coen will of course have his responsibilities and there will be differences between how he handles them compared to O'Connell. But Coen's previous experience with McVay should smooth that transition
Besides Henderson and DeCamillis, returning coaches are:
Kevin Carberry returns as OL Coach
Nick Jones moves from Offensive Assistant to Assistant OL Coach
Eric Yarber returns as WR Coach
Thomas Brown returns as Assistant HC/RB Coach
Zac Robinson returns, moving from Assistant QB to TE Coach
Eric Henderson, moving from DL Coach to DL Coach/Run Game Coordinator?)
Chris Shula, moving from LB Coach to ILB Coach
Jonathan Cooley, moving from Assistant Secondary Coach to Secondary Coach
In addition to Coen, new coaches are:
Jake Peetz, QB Coach
Greg Olsen, Senior Offensive Assistant
Chris Beake, OLB Coach
Jeremy Springer, Assistant SST Coach
Gone:
Kevin O'Connell, former OC
Ejiro Evero, former Secondary Coach/Pass Game Coordinator
Dwayne Stukes, former Assistant ST Coach
Wes Phillips, TE coach/Pass Game Coordinator
Zak Kromer, former Offensive Assistant
Thad Bogardus, former Assistant LB Coach
Lance Shulters, former Coaching Fellow
Chris O'Hara, former Offensive Assistant
Marcus Dixon, former Assistant DL Coach
Question: Is John Bonemego still on the staff as Senior Coaching Assistant? That was his role in 2021 ...
