Re: K. Shanahan's in the 3 biggest games of his career:

I think that Shanahan is a really good OC and devises some great stuff, but when we had the choice of the two (Shanahan and McVay) after the 2016 season, I was all in on McVay). I actually brought up McVay's name on the old STL Rams board in the summer of 2016 as a guy I would seriously look at after it was clear that Jeff Fisher needed to go. The reason was two-fold. The first was I got to see the Redskins offense a lot that season and was impressed by what McVay did. The second was that although he was only 29 or 30 I kept hearing Chris Cooley just rave about him on the morning show here in DC. It kept coming back to being a natural leader who players will follow, in spite of his age. And that has turned out to be true--people follow Sean McVay. Kyle Shanahan is a little more prickly and if you really watch, doesn't always do as well when things go wrong. The misdirection to Kyle Juszczyk on the 3rd down that was snuffed out by the Rams was a great example. He had put something on film, set it up well when he went against it and was shocked that it didn't work--and you could see how visibly upset he was on the sideline--and from there it seemed like his lack of composure filtered down to his team. You never see that with McVay, he's always "on to the next play".

Falcons' 28-3 collapse taught Raheem Morris a lesson that he used in Rams' Super Bowl win
