Why would McVay ever say that no matter what he'll be with the Rams for more years? You never give up that kind of control or negotiating position. Plus Kroenke won't be whipsawed or held over a barrel. He's too smart, too rich, and too cunning of a business man. He's held sports teams for decades and knows what he's doing. Negotiating and posturing is his domain.
This is the guy who postured his way out of St. Louis when there was no way to do it. And McVay has brought exactly the kind of success needed to make the Rams a LA favorite. It's a good marriage and both sides know it.
Not to worry. McVay isn't retiring.
