Although I thought that Brock was a very good player for us, I don't think he ever flashed in the way that Gaines has over the last half of the season. And though he was a very good run blocker, I don't think he every dominated in the trenches like A'shawn Robinson did over the past couple of games.
I suspect that I probably shouldn't do any comparisons as a younger Brock played on some pretty poor teams (and yet was stout for us during 2018). But still...give me Gaines.
Brcokers was the not in the middle, SDJ was.
While Ashawn was great in playoffs, you gotta remember he missed 8 tackled in reg season
in 2020 Brockers missed zero
SO, A'Shawn because of size, when motivated, can do damage. He was absent regular season
Brockers when he made a play, no one ever noticed, TV guys... but 5 sacks, 11 pressures was not east to replace.
But Gaines is simply better than SBJ at nose. Agree with you there
