Our ST were horrendous earlier in the year.. just freakin awful.. thank goodness we got Brandon Powell and Skow and the rest of the guys pulled their head's out..
I don't recall who mentioned it in an earlier thread, but it was remarked upon that Powell gave the offense a lot of "hidden" yards by his aggressive play on PR's. No, he didn't break any long runs. But he didn't allow any 40-yard punts to bounce and skip and turn into 55-yard punts either. Very aggressive running up (sometimes into traffic) and securing the ball. Showed great concentration and sure-handedness.
With those attributes, it's a wonder how McVay didn't get him on offense throughout the back half of the season. Not talking about making him a full-time WR, but I could def see him being successful on jet-sweeps. Even faking it to him might give a defense a slight pause - enough to buy our O-line a little more time to hold their blocks.
Great points ramBRO! I would have like to see that too! He seems to have a quick burst when cutting and accelerating. The Jet Sweep would have been perfect for him!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
