Weddle was a disappointment in 2019, but there could be a reason. Early in the season, he took a brutal hit to the head. His forehead was gashed and bleeding all over the place. That kind of incident involving a traumatic head injury can have a lingering effect.

Weddle said he had stuff floating around in his knees and that was keeping him from playing at a high level. The surgery and time off made up for the extra 2yrs of age I guess. He knows where to be and that is more important than being "OK fast" like Taylor Rapp is because he is getting to his spot and diagnosing the play. He basically has football speed even at his age.
