Used to be that way....

When I coached in the 70's, 80's, I think it was 11 years as a youth coach then 4 more at our local High School.. we did a LOT of one on one tackling.

When I returned to coaching in around 2009 or so, and only for a couple years, that was no more. But tackling drills WERE... practice dummies. Lots of it... but I've noticed that that's even being phased out now.

Yes, I saw a lot of bad coaching back in the day...saw a few of them fired for doing what you spell out.
