I didn't notice that the pass was tipped, but it didn't hit Kupp in stride. One of Stafford's problems (and this may be even more damaging than the under-thrown deep balls) has been not leading his receivers. If that pass had led Kupp, it would have been a TD. At any rate, a QB should never throw a pass that is at risk of being picked off that close to the end zone. You cannot afford to lose scoring opportunities from near the goal line. The Rams missed out on two TDs (that play and the drop by Skoronek). It is difficult to win games when you miss out on such scoring opportunities (such a play killed the Rams in Super Bowl 53). The margin between NFL teams (especially in the playoffs) is too narrow to expect to win games when points are kept off the board by critical mistakes.
