These guys have tons of data.. many games, many seasons.. many data to trend off of.
One correlation could be suspect, but they can build thousands of correlations and scenarios.
Your single situation can be offset by 10 normal scenarios.
The algorithms can adjust for that.
Some teams, may be 1-10 ratio of outliers to normal
Other teams can be 1-4 ratio
Digital Marketing engines are sophisticated enough to get things 80% right or get the arrow trending in the right direction.
If Vivid seats is saying that trends are heading to Niners.. I would take that as a data point.
If other ticket agencies are saying that are seeing the same thing, then most likely they are right.
If a journalist is taking their data and putting his/her conclusion of the data, then I would ignore.
The journalist doesn't know the ins/outs of the data while these ticket agencies do... they know the trends because they will market to them to make money.
