Right before kickoff, Al Michaels said that Gay "Right off the top here Matt Gay will kick off. He had a little bit of an issue about and hour and a half ago when he was warming up out on the field and since the Rams won the toss and have deferred, we're going to see him right off the bat." He gave no explanation about "the little bit of an issue" but later on in the game Collingsworth said that before the game they saw Gay kinda buckle under while practicing kicks. Have heard no more about him, though.
