than any poster on any message board anywhere. But what exactly is he supposed to say? Its his coach, and they are in the middle of a playoff run. I suppose he could have said nothing, but thats not Jalen's style. And if he buries Morris on twitter, then the team implodes.
And for the record, everyone knows I was hard on Morris until I saw the Rams in person and watched the defense in person. I changed my tune. I posted several posts about why I changed my tune.
I'm one of the few on this board that has defended Morris since that game.
I also think he would make a good HC and should get a shot. What I never liked, and still don't is why bring in a DC that plays a certain system, and has done very well with that system and make him change to another system. Morris is and always has been a Tampa 2 guy for as far as I can tell, and Staley is a Fangio disciple. The hire seemed like to me to be a buddy buddy friendship hire going back to Tampa and then in their Washington days.
And I get all coaches hire former pals. Its not exclusive to McVay. But if you wanted a Staley D, hire a Staley disciple. And that isn't Morris' fault.
Just like it isn't Morris' fault that the Rams forgot how to tackle this year, or that Rapp is a liability on the backend, or that CB injuries has made a revolving door at CB. Or that they miss NR-C.
Players love Morris, Morris has learned from some great HCs, and he can scheme a defense.
Oh and this is a quote from Ramsey last year:
Jalen Ramsey said Brandon Staley is "the best defensive coordinator that I've had for sure in the NFL," and that's not a shot at previous DCs he's worked with in LA or Jacksonville. Said Staley is smart and knows how to put players in position to make an impact on the game.
