the defense did it's part and got the ball back to the offense on the 40 yard line with 1:50 left on the clock with a 7 point lead......the defense should have never even come back on the field after that
McVay proceeded to run the exact same run play three times in a row for 5 yards and then punted ball back to Niners with 1:27 left on the clock
there is plenty of blame to go around unfortunately
