I think your wrong. So Cal has a tremendous fan base that supports the Rams. The problem is they are not the ONLY team here with a tremendous fan base. All one has to do is go to a sports bar here on any given Sunday during football season. All teams have big support here. SF doesn't have the same mild climate we have here and their transplants can't compare to here in So Cal. But don't say we don't have a strong fan base here because we do. Unfortunately, most all NFL teams do here as well.
If this was the Raiders, the stands wouldn't be half empty of Raiders fans. Rams fans are fair weather at best and the passionate ones that do exist aren't nearly enough to create a home field advantage.
How can you defend what we saw today? We might as well be the freakin' Chargers in someone else's stadium. LA is NOT passionate about the Rams. There are some Rams fans but Rams don't even come close to generating the interest that Lakers and Dodgers do. And they are front-runners too. But at least they show up when the playoffs come around. Rams fans obviously couldn't care less about a Rams/49ers game that was for the division and to knock SF out of the playoffs.
I don't see how there's any excuse for that.
