The reason the Fangio system always foiled McVay and got his respect is, McVay is stubborn and refuses to alter his plan of attack and the Fangio system is built to thwart stubborn stiffnecked coaches. People hate on Raheem but Raheem has been hamstrung by being forced to use a system that has been hacked by the league less than a year after it became the it defense. Take the miles of free yardage this defense freely gives away but know it is the most unsexy least ego gratifying way possible. Raheem said stats are for losers, he probably subconsciously or consciously realized this defenses gimmick wouldn't work long. Staley's defense is just as passive now as the Rams is because they have the same creator. Morris never was known for passive defenses before being forced to adopt one. What the Rams need to do is fire the Staley/Fangio defense next year.
