I wonder about this sort of thing. Granted, a QB looks like a wizard when he does it and it works. But if you consistently look the opposite way before going the other way, I would imagine a defender is smart enough to anticipate it. At this point, I'd rather Stafford not fly blind for a while. Which isn't to say he should stare his receivers down but if he's getting into trouble by assuming things, just play it straight until the bugs get worked out.

I don't know that the pick 6 and minus field position issues are primarily because of that though. Trying to do too much and poor choices seem to be more the culprit in those cases. No easy fixes that I see. This is Stafford having to change the way he thinks in those situations. Not easy to do overnight. Which, through all the anger and venting, is my hope. Growing pains often look like this. It is that point in the season where McVay is likely asking more of Stafford within the offense and they are both struggling to get the square peg through the round hole. But, we still have time for things to gel so that is my best case scenario at this point.
