…that a lot of people find frustrating about the easy yards the D gives up:
When? Always (seemingly) at the end of the half just after we score…we just concede the FG attempt. Why allow the opponent the easy chance to grab back some momentum? The scheme is already prevent-based…when we go into an actual prevent it feels like we just let the O do whatever they want.
How? Always (seemingly) on 3rd down when the DBs give a 10 yard cushion with less than 7 yards needed for the first. Seems like we just concede the first down. I realize Morris’ D is predicated on not giving up the big play, but does that mean we so often have to concede the first down on the 3rd and 3 to 7 yards scenarios?
These seem like easily fixable things - while still being compatible with his scheme - but we still see them happen week after week.
