I think what bothers most fans is the "free" yards the Rams give up. It was driving me crazy but when you study it a bit more you can see why it happens.
Sometimes we all forget the other team is in the NFL also, they have good and great players and they make plays. Good coaches make good calls at the right time and they change things up as needed.
Morris has adjusted but the design of the Rams defense is going to give up some easy catches and yards that just how it is. Other teams make plays, other team's good players make plays.
The good thing I am starting to see is that this is a "team" in all 3 phases and they are starting to really come together as an overall roster. What we really need is for Stafford to stop turning the ball over period.
He is the only reason that the Rams aren't hammering teams right now. He is giving the ball away too often and he is giving away points with his mistakes both directly pick-sixes and indirectly his fumble cost the Rams at least an FG chance.
All Stafford really has to do is understand the check-down isn't a bad thing, in fact how many good things happen when he just flips it short to Sony (when he catches it) or the short check down to Kupp that went for 30...if it isn't there don't throw it, this team is good enough to help him if he lets them. If our QB protects the ball the Rams have a legit chance at a title.
The D is not the problem, they are stout and a problem for the other team...the four man rush they have is pretty impactful. The ST's have come around Hekker is punting way better, we have a return guy. The Rams have legit weapons and Sony is a beast and now Cam is back to help. The QB needs to play within himself because his talent is top notch...Just dont make dumb throws and the Rams can beat anyone period.
