For all of us except those who have a continuing man crush on Goff, as the man said "it was a no brainer".
The one disagreement I would have is where he speaks about the value of 1st round picks to GMs. From everything I can tell (anecdotally for sure) most GMs go whacky over 2 things; 1st round draft picks, and QBs that have great physical measurables. This is why Snead is very different from so many other GMs. He sees 1st round picks as poker chips used to buy proven NFL stars. And because these proven stars are always guys who a) want out of their current team or b) the current team is not going to pay them, then the GM trading them wants to say "I got TWO 1st round draft picks" for his guy. Problem is, he also knows its two LATE first round draft picks, that are almost 2nd rounders.
And as the good draft guys will say, once you get to the late middle of the 1st round, you're dealing with picking up guys who aren't much different than 2nd or even 3rd round guys.
And, the GM receiving picks is highly unlikely to hit on all those picks he receives. Snead on the other hand receives a sure thing.
Stafford is such an upgrade that it's hard to quantify. But Cowherd used some reasonable stats to try and measure it. And it's off the charts.
Did he have a really bad game in Minny? Absolutely. But, he also found a way to move the team when he had to, and score when he had to. But, that wasn't his norm.
Perspective perspective perspective.
