More on the Kittle break out game. Most of Kittle’s rookie season were comprised of games of 2 receptions and 20 yards. Against Washington he had his third best game, 4 receptions for 52 yards. Against the Colts he had his most receptions, 7, for 83 yards.
Against the Rams—with their bench secondary—Kittle had 4 receptions for 100 yards! He was running like thoroughbred bolting out of the stable.
His rookie year Kittle accumulated 515 yards. 20% of those against the Rams in that one game. The earlier match in week 3, Kittle had 2 receptions, and, I think, for 11 yards.
Jimmy G did throw 2 picks and Kevin Peterson (where is he now?) picked off both. The 9ers won 34-13 to finish 6 -10.
I really think Kittle went to his locker after that game and thought I belong.
I hope McVay doesn’t have the chance to create a new Niners’ star in week 18.
