Re: "Sick and tired" doesn't give you the right to ditcate

December 17, 2021 11:20AM
I'm not talking about those rights enumerated in the Constitution. I'm talking about the sudden expressed concern over the purported loss of the same. I half expect Paul Revere to come riding down the street on "Old Paint" or whatever that horse was yelling "the vaccinators are coming, the vaccinators are coming..."

Seriously, our freedom and so called personal rights have been with us since the beginning of our country. However, only recently have the issue of "personal liberty" been expressed to this degree. All over vaccinations which have also been with us for a long, long, time. For me to go to public school back in the 40s I had to show proof of my being vaccinated for measles, and other contagious diseases. I never heard any "personal liberty" outcries -then again there was no social media then nor was everyone a political expert either-based on what they see on tv. It's all very "faddish" now-especially if one perceives himself or herself to belong to a certain political party.

In sum, this has nothing to do with "personal rights" which -as you say-have been with us since the beginning of our country. It has more to do with the newly expressed claim that they are in danger. Simply put, those rights are nothing more than a vehicle for one who for whatever reason doesn't want to be vaccinated.
Mobs of people have suddenly become Paul Revere in their own manner. It's actually quite funny-hence my reference to George Carlin.

Now I'm going into the kitchen so I can be "hydrated". God only knows what might happen to me if I don't do it.
