That's the thing about Cam Akers. He represented that power running that McVay needs and wants and it's hard to overstate how badly this hurt the Rams to lose him before the season even started.

It also helps to explain the very targeted move to get Michel from the Pats. He was the type of back that the offense needs. That said, this offense needs a Henderson, too. Henderson provides wiggle and suddenness.

I really wonder what the Rams might do at RB for next year. They'd probably be wise to keep Michel if he didn't cost too much. It would probably have to be in the $2.5 million per year range or he'll not be affordable.

I'd bet that when Henderson gets back (hopefully on Sunday) we'll see about a 60-40 split with Michel the 60.
