Not what I'd do, but what I think the team will do:
Miller: they'll let him go for the comp pick
Williams: they'll sign him to a 1-year deal. Rochelle isn't ready to replace him and Long didn't step up.
Beckham: Given the uncertainty of When Woods will be ready, and Tutu's lost year, they'll re-sign him to too large of a deal.
Allen: We didn't draft his replacement last year when we could it tells me they'll try to keep him.
Corbett: They'll let him go and give his spot to Evans.
Here’s what I would do based upon what I’ve seen through 12 games this year…
Miller is a goner. Save the cap dollars and take the comp pick in ‘23. Not currently worth anywhere NEAR $17M per as the author suggests.
I think I’d let DW walk, too. He’s had a mediocre year compared to last. Again, save the cap dollars and get that future comp pick.
I’d let OBJ walk, too. With Woods back next year, we’ll be just fine with Kupp and Jefferson. I’m optimistic about the Harris kid, too. Another comp pick for OBJ.
I’d extend Allen if he’s halfway reasonable.
I’d extend Boom and Corbett, as well. Keep that OL continuity going if at all possible.
I would strain to extend SJD if it’s at all doable. I think he’s that valuable to this D.
I’m assuming that Whit retires, of course.
