That's your depth? Calais isn't the biggest guy and was a PS player. All he did this year was get hurt. That's not depth.
And can we stop with the Jake Funk talk. I know he was an off-season darling and a heartwarming story - but this is a 7th rounder (probably could have been an UDFA) with season ending injuries in like 3 of of the past 4 years (college and pro). And what did he do for us when he was healthy? Pre-season and regular season - nothing. He's a good special teamer and that's where he belongs.
We'll have to see how Akers comes back. The odds are not great with that injury that he will be the same as he was before. Or it might take 1 year or 2. We don't know (look at sequin barkley for clues on first year back from major injury)
If Akers can go - then it's got to be Akers Michel and then Henderson as a 3rd down back only (base on skillset and injury history). They should probably draft another back or 2 as well. You need at least a couple of strong every down backs to really have a competent, competitive run game. And McVay and Stafford both need that.
