I just think Michel is a very solid, dependable RB...He always moves the pile forward and breaks tackles. Solid at catching the ball out of the backfield as well.
Remember CJ Anderson? Nothing fancy...But, he just kept moving the sticks! No long 75 yd TD runs, but I'll take 6-7 yds and a cloud of dust. That's what Michel does for this Ram team. Steady downhill running with the power to fall forward and keep getting first downs. PERFECT for Rams Offense!
IMHO...If I was McVay....Sony Michel is RB#1 and Hendo is RB#2, until Sony proves to me he can't get the job done...Well, vs. the Jags, he got the job done!
Another thing I love about Michel, that seems to get overlooked is, he is an excellent blocker. my personal preference is that I love a more physical RB.
These are good points. Which mirrors McVay's shortcomings. The desire for too many big plays. It has to be a balance and taking modest gains and attempting to run just have to be committed to more regularly. The high risk approach just isn't delivering high rewards enough to abandon the balanced approach.
