I understand all of that perfectly, you're not telling me anything I don't already know.
Do you love what Morris does then? So you're fine with the way he is calling games and using players? If so that's cool, but I see it differently and see things he can do to improve and help this team get better on D. Do you disagree with what I said? Just because several teams run this scheme and the Rams do it pretty well doesn't mean they can't do things better or change parts of the scheme to make it suit the talent they do have better.
What I do know is that when Jimmy G is hitting pass after pass against us like he did last Monday and like the Niners did last year there is an issue with the Rams defensive game plan against them period... both last season and this season when rated 1st and 12th.
They were number one last year and rated plenty high enough again this season all things considered but they can play better and the coaches can help it be better by alignment and simplicity and by challenging the offense more.
The rating is not the be-all-end-all and neither is the yardage ranking. It's also situational and how they handle certain downs and distances that make the difference between being a good D and a great one. It's coaching on the fly and adapting and adjusting to what the other team does and does well and what they are doing in-game when it's actually going on.
The point I am trying to make is that the Rams can do better and the coaches can help by adjusting on the fly preparing a better game plan up front and using players the best way possible regardless of scheme.
jimmy had a good game for sure, the Rams helped that by making it so easy for him to read what they were doing and instantly knowing where to go with the ball.
