I have seen a theory proposed on this board (sorry, can't remember who posted it) that maybe Mayfield was forcing the ball to OBJ even when he was covered in an attempt to get him his touches. And even thought that's horrible team football, it could explain why Mayfield's passer rating was so low going to OBJ and also why the team did better when he wasn't in there.
Thought on that idea?
OBJ wanted the ball, Mayfield was wanting to get him the ball, they never could get on the same page----I don;t think you can put the blame on ust one guy
there is an ESPN article about it.
My personal opinion is Mayfield felt pressure to go to OBJ and tried to get it there when OB was not open or OB crossed him up or toher small things than screw up timing or Mayfield was throwing it to him when he should not have and under or over threw it
