To me it also seems McVay looks for an excuse to abandon the run game. A back can be averaging 8 yards a carry but the first carry of less than 2 yards, "see I tried but they figured it out" and he'll go 80% pass the rest of the game, regardless of how successful it is. The one thing and I mean only thing I respect about Shanny is that reverse and respects the run game. I can tell by his actions. McVay has only given the run game lip service since Gurley's decline. Which is weird because the best McVay's offense has ever looked was with Prime Todd, and that is with Goff. I shudder to think of Stafford as QB on that offense. It would give the GSOT a run for it's money. Just because we don't have a prime Todd level back on our team doesn't mean this offense wouldn't benefit from more running plays.
