It's Snead's job to pick WRs that fit what the HC wants.
Since McVay came on board the Rams have drafted Kupp, Reynolds, Jefferson, Atwell, Harris, and Skowronek.
If I was to issue a grade today I'd say Snead went 5 for 6 picking WRs since McVay came on board. (Note: any GM that can consistently go 5 for 6 is headed to the HOF.)
So ... Snead did bad picking WRs with Fisher but overall seems to be doing great with McVay. What changed? Could be that McVay is asking for something at WR that Fisher wasn't.
And about Snead drafting speed at WR: the Rams look for speed at every position. It's one of the metrics that factors into the relative athletic score, a key analytic that the trend-setting Rams use to uncover hidden gems deep into the draft. (For some info on RAS see [
