I had been a fan since 1976 and did not know of a bad season. What I'm getting at is that I look back and think it's funny how long 1981-82 seemed. There was the burp called 1987 (Drag year all around with the strike. Beating Skins at RFK was lone highlight) THEEEEEN came the 1990-98 NIGHTMARE! NINE seasons??? The Rams would have to TRY to beat that stretch. In a flash, the GSOT days ended and they did......2005-2016. TWELVE seasons of garbage.
Through all of that, I think the ULTIMATE "Fandom Merit Badge" season had to be 2008. Why 2008??? Because there was ZERO hope after Qtr #1 of Game #1 at Philly. I remember watching the first few minutes of that game and looking at my Ram fan bud and saying...... "When's the Draft? SERIOUSLY, When's the Draft???"
I remember laughing out LOUD in mid 1999 when a NINERS fan asked how long I had been on the Rams band wagon. What was funnier was the guy was older than me. I played dumb and asked who the Niners QB was before Montana. He had no clue.
