Those plays are few and far between. We just see the situation differently. Although, I predict that if Stafford lights up the lowly New York Giants, the forum trainers will declare his thumb magically healed during the long week. But if he has off moments again, the excuse will be the thumb.
Oh, or the index finger.
Or something else, probably McVay's scheme.
Then you're just looking for an argument. I have been very specific about the types of throws that I think Stafford's thumb is giving him troubles with. I didn't try and excuse his interception in the red zone or when he was forcing the ball to Kupp instead of going to someone else a couple of weeks ago.
But it's clear that his deep ball passes are not the same as they were in the first couple of weeks. He is also overthrowing and missing passes that he normally doesn't. If I'm right and it's because his hand isn't right, then 10 days off would likely help. If he's still unable to get the ball deep against the Giants, then I would say that it was still a problem. If he's just making bad decisions, that would be different.
