His first few steps, maybe several, he's at half speed trying to read the D coming at him. Lot of P-Returners do that... it's not uncommon, and also sometimes warranted... and I've never really studied special team play, even though I coached, so I can't say I know what I'm talking about here but it seems to me your initial reaction, most of the time, should be to explode after the catch, if at all possible. I don't think it's that way for Tutu... this is from memory but it seems to me his FIRST reaction is to pause and seek a freeway thru the D... which is seldom available. And now with all that said:
No way have I, or anyone, really seen enough to know what he truly is at returning punts, kickoffs. The above is just my initial impression on his very limited number of returns this year. - JamesJM
