Morris seems to blitz a bit more often...imo

but he doesn't seem to use exotic coverages pre-snap like Staley did. However, Morris kinda plays that bend-don't -break zone (Tamp 2) defense but mixes in a few more coverages & stuff from Staley's version. I think Staley calls a better game....and our defense will NOT fool QBs like last year...but we'll make other teams take long drives by giving up short stuff & run creases in moving down the field. Thereby, forcing an offense to play patiently and cleanly for 10 plays in a row. Offense will have to play perfectly...cuz they're not going to get deep stuff over the top vs Cover 2 (I mean, it should be rare to).
It's a style that worked with the Tampa 2 style where they forced all underneath stuff and came up to make the tackles and then tighten up inside the 20/RZ....and hold the opposition to FGs instead of TDs. There 2 GL stands last week on 1st and goal...that's pretty impressive. I mean, really impressive.
This year's defense won't be as exotic but it might have close to the same outcomes if the guys just play their part in the scheme and stay disciplined.
