Saw my Doctor 2 weeks ago (a talkie Italian guy). He said he has recently hospitalized several of his patients for Covid and had 4 die. All who got Covid were unvaccinated. And that his data tells him that the so called "breakthrough" infections are very rare, but they do happen, nearly entirely in older people.
So, if Hekker was vaccinated and has Covid, he is in a very rare group. Not impossible, but highly unlikely. Not at all saying he is a bad guy if he wasn't vaccinated; that is his choice. But, there are consequences for our choices. And his choice (if that's the case) just might make him the odd man out as the Rams punter.
Not as rare as you may think. According to the Israeli Health Ministry COVID-19 data dashboard on August 11, 2021, the number of serious COVID-19 cases reached 405, the highest one-day total since March 2021. Furthermore, about 250 of these patients were fully vaccinated.
Currently in Israel 64% of severe coronavirus cases are breakthrough cases. Seems efficacy of the vaccines against variants are not as effective as we need them to be.
